Natural Resources Canada's ecoENERGY Retrofit for Homes is available to owners of single family homes including detached, semi-detached and low rise multi-unit residential buildings. Property owners can qualify for Federal grants by improving the energy efficiency of their homes, and reducing their home's impact on the environment. The maximum ecoENERGY grant one can receive per home or multi-unit residential building is $5,000.
Depending on your province and/or municipality, you may be eligible for other grants.
NRCan has licensed AmeriSpec of Canada, the single largest national provider of the ecoENERGY service, to perform residential energy evaluations to identify how your home uses energy and where it is being wasted. Our licensed evaluators will show you how to improve the comfort of your home and cut heating and cooling costs, while ensuring adequate ventilation for a healthy indoor environment for your family.
Only homes that have been evaluated by an NRCan licensed evaluator will be eligible for the Federal grants.
5 easy steps to ecoENERGY
1. Contact a certified AmeriSpec Evaluator to schedule a pre-retrofit evaluation
2. Select your retrofits based on the recommended upgrades made by your AmeriSpec Evaluator
3. Implement the recommendations within 18 months or by March 31, 2011 (whichever comes first and subject to available funding)
4. Contact your AmeriSpec Evaluator to conduct the post-retrofit to confirm your upgrades and submit your application on your behalf
5. Receive your Federal and Provincial cheques within 90 days based on qualified upgrades

As part of the Governments of Canada's Economic Action Plan, the Federal ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program has been expanded to help more than 200,000 more homeowners cover the cost of making energy-efficient retrofits to their homes.
The expanded time-limited programs includes a $300-million increase in funding over 2 years.

As Certified Energy Advisors, we are qualified to perform pre-project energy audits for residential-style buildings under 600 square metres in area with no specialized commercial equipment.
